Social Responsibility in Action

Dubai Fitness Challenge 2019

The University of Manchester - Dubai, along with students, alumni, and staff, participated in the 3rd edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, encouraging Dubai's residents to commit to 30 minutes of exercise a day for 30 days.

Dubai Run

Held on November 8, 2019, the first-ever Dubai Run was part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, promoting family bonding and health through exercise. Alumni, students, staff, and their families joined this prestigious event.

Jadarah Sessions

As part of our social responsibility initiatives, we participated in The Jadarah Talent Accelerator Programme, hosting three sessions on Emotional Intelligence, Personal Brand, and Coaching & Feedback, led by Elena Agaragimova and Hiba Abbassi.

Dubai Standard Chartered Marathon

On January 25, 2019, our students, alumni, staff, and friends kicked off the year’s social responsibility initiatives by participating in the 2019 Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon.

Dubai Cares “Walk for Education” 2019

The University of Manchester - Dubai staff, students, and alumni took part in this walk to support the ‘Year of Tolerance,’ promoting education and inclusivity.

Red Crescent Iftar Boxes

A volunteer team from the University of Manchester - Dubai collaborated with the Red Crescent to pack and distribute Iftar boxes for labourers and workers in Dubai during Ramadan.

WeWalk Annual Walkathon

Representing people from all walks of life, this walkathon promotes understanding of daily challenges and triumphs. The event aligns with the UAE National Agenda and Vision 2021.

Ramadan Fridges

Supporting an initiative to place fridges in public spaces around Dubai during Ramadan, the Centre and its volunteers stocked these fridges with food for the needy.

SOS Gala Suhoor

The University of Manchester - Dubai partnered with SOS Children’s Villages for a Gala Suhoor in Dubai, which highlighted the charity’s work and raised funds to support children without parental care.

Annual Ramadan Gathering

Our Centre organised an annual Ramadan gathering for students and alumni in Dubai. Over 60 guests attended the event and generously donated to the Red Crescent.
