We are always happy to collaborate with the public and private sector on projects that help the community we cater to. The Manchester Innovation Awards was one such powerful collaboration.
In 2010, The University of Manchester – Dubai (known back then as The Middle East Centre) in partnership with the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development and under the patronage of his Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan launched the Manchester Innovation Award, a new initiative for Emirati nationals to stimulate employment and entrepreneurship in the UAE.
With over 100 registrations submitted, seven finalists were selected and announced at a gala occasion coinciding with Global Entrepreneurship Week. The winner of the inaugural award benefitted from an all-expenses paid study tour to The University of Manchester in the UK, a cash award and trophy, as well as ongoing support in the development of the winning business innovation.
