Leading with purpose: unlocking human potential in an AI-driven world.
In his role as the Senior Director CEEMETA at Dell Technologies, Mohamed leads a team focused on building customer data strategy through AI adoption. He describes himself as a purpose-driven business leader with over 22 years of experience in the IT industry, leading high-impact teams and driving growth across emerging markets. In addition to his regional role, he also serves as the General Manager & Managing Director for Dell Technologies in Egypt, where he oversees operations, talent development, and strategic growth initiatives in one of the region’s most dynamic markets.
From a personal perspective, he has always challenged his own comfort zone— starting in tech support, then transitioning into professional services, consulting, presales, specialty sales, and core sales. It’s a journey that has given him a unique experience that he uses to lead with empathy, agility, and business impact.
He also stresses the importance of social responsibility and of giving back; for example, he is involved with a charity in Egypt that supports the community with a focus on providing care for children, poverty alleviation and literacy training.
He’s also a committed lifelong learner currently preparing to pursue a DBA degree and is a dedicated sportsman with a strong team ethos. Mohamed tells his own story…
“I joined Dell Technologies 16 years ago, well before starting my Global MBA journey, in 2021. The decision to pursue the MBA came at a pivotal moment — as I transitioned from a technical presales leadership role into the early stages of a sales leadership career. I knew I needed to broaden my strategic, commercial, and leadership capabilities to succeed in this new direction. The GMBA provided the right structure and global perspective to support that growth.”
The University of Manchester-Dubai and Dell Technologies have worked under a Strategic Talent Partnership for several years – a relationship that grew in importance for Mohamed.
“While the Strategic Talent Partnership between Manchester and Dell was not a major factor at the time I made my decision to join the MBA, it became a great resource later in my journey. Dell was very supportive, and I’m grateful to the company for the flexibility that allowed me to manage both my responsibilities and studies.
“Despite already having substantial business experience, I approached the MBA with clear goals: sharpening strategic thinking, understanding financial frameworks, and enhancing my leadership skills to build and empower diverse teams. Today, in my roles as General Manager for Egypt and Senior Director for Data Management across CEEMETA, I actively apply these learnings — whether in setting vision, mentoring talent, or leading transformation programs.”
Mohamed focuses on human development, which means supporting others to grow through skill- building, coaching, and, above all, well-being. He’s especially interested in how AI can be a force multiplier in this journey, helping individuals and organisations unlock their full potential.
He is also a strong believer in personal development and lifelong learning and is currently preparing himself through an MIT diploma course on AI for a DBA (Doctorate in Business Administration), with a focus on how emerging technologies—like AI—can create tangible business and societal impact.
“As an active alumnus, I’m committed to lifelong learning. I continue to explore executive education, particularly around AI strategy and the intersection of technology, ethics, and leadership.
“Leadership, to me, is about people. The MBA reinforced the importance of empathy, agility, and purposeful decision-making. It also helped me appreciate how essential it is to continuously invest in personal development — especially as we navigate the rapid evolution of technologies like AI.”
Throughout his career, Mohamed has built and led high-performing teams, driven innovation, and cultivated lasting customer partnerships. Sport has played a major role in his life and Mohamed has been an athlete since the age of eight, played professional handball for over a decade, and continues to live the athletic mindset through fitness, CrossFit, and kickboxing. He firmly believes the discipline, resilience, and focus learned through sport are core to how he leads.
“At the recent University “Meet the Team” event in Dubai, I shared a core belief: that leadership isn’t a title — it’s a choice we make each day, especially in uncertain times.”
He is also passionate about building inclusive ecosystems, mentoring future leaders, and leading with purpose. A great example is the Solar Community Hubs initiative in Egypt, which reflects his passion for inclusive innovation and impact-driven work.
Solar Community Hubs are solar-powered internet and technology centres that provide access for remote communities and enable digital equity and inclusion for the underserved. Made from refurbished shipping containers, Hubs are transformed into a classroom that connect rural communities to education and healthcare. With the help of technology partner, Dell Technologies, they have opened 25 labs in seven countries. For Dell team members and leaders, such as Mohamed, it’s also a chance to get involved with their community.
